Apple Vision Pro: What It Is and Why It’s a Big Deal

This video explains Apple’s Vision Pro headset, its key features, and how it blends virtual and augmented reality for a new kind of user experience.

Apple Maps is slowly becoming the go-to direction app for many users. Whether it’s thanks to fun little add-ons like showcasing 3D cities or race tracks, or the reliable navigation it offers. When Apple devices switched to iOS 26, there was also a hidden improvement, some might not know about.

Apple Maps: Avoid Traffic on Daily Commute

Most people will take the exact same route every single day when they’re commuting either to work or school. That’s the trusted and easiest way to get to the final destination, right? Well, not always. That’s where a new Apple Maps feature comes into play that was added with the iOS 26 update last year. As described on the iOS home page, users can have Apple memorize their daily path and warn them before even getting into the car if there are any issues.

“Maps learns the routes you travel regularly and can alert you about significant delays, even before you head out. If your routine changes, iPhone adapts to it so you can conquer your commute,” is written on the web page. So, if there is an accident, new construction, or any other issues, users can be warned ahead of time. Apple Maps will then adjust the route to avoid such problems. While this is a great feature, it’s also important to note that users have to opt into it, since location data is quite sensitive.

How to Enable the Feature

If this is interesting and something that users could benefit from, then they can enable it through a permission prompt as explained by 9to5Mac. When the permission prompt pops up, simply tap Continue and Allow to activate the feature. If someone didn’t do this, then they can still enable the feature in the settings later on. This can be done in Maps under Settings. Press Location and then Preferred Routes & Predicted Destinations.

When these steps are done, Apple Maps will start to learn a user’s routine in the background. The application will figure out what the daily commute is, and in the future, users can be warned ahead of time of any issues.
